Point Lighting Range
The Point lighting range is the result of a collaboration between product designer Alex Buckman and Città’s in-house designers, David Moreland and Nikolai Sorensen. The extensive range offers lighting solutions encompassing pendants, floor lamps, and table lamps.
Award-Winning Design
The unique design makes a statement with its spherical hand-blown glass shade and minimalist aesthetic.
The iconic form was honoured with a Gold Pin at New Zealand’s esteemed Best Design Awards in 2020. Judges praised its “elegant and considered” design, highlighting the “playful details, beautiful detailing, and quality materials”.
Floor Lamp
The design is also reimagined as a bold floor lamp. The matte steel column has a subtle integrated switch at the top, enabling dimming across three brightness levels.
The standard floor lamp provides a pared-back look with a single fixed bulb. Alternatively, create a custom look with the modular floor lamp, which includes kitset bulbs and poles for personalised assembly.
Modular Pendant
The modular design of the Point pendant allows for customisable lighting configurations tailored to your space.
The design starts with a base pendant—you’ll need to get this piece fitted to your ceiling by a qualified electrician. You can then personalise your look by adding up to three additional extension pieces. The extensive range provides versatility with black or white shades in small or large sizes.
The individual components can be purchased separately, or you can opt for one of our 10 predetermined sets.
Table Lamp
For smaller spaces, the Point table lamp is a welcome addition. The design features an integrated switch offering three brightness settings. Its striking silhouette adds a sculptural element when placed on a sideboard or bedside table.
A Celebration of Craftsmanship
The shade is crafted by skilled artisans using traditional glass-blowing techniques. In the elaborate process, molten glass is handled on the end of a blowpipe and then mouth-blown into a fixed-shaped mould.
“The art of glass blowing has been around for a long time, yet I find the process still has a certain magical quality,” says David Moreland, Città product designer.
“Watching the molten glass get blown into the mould and then put through the finishing process is quite beautiful—every touch has to be perfect. It’s very satisfying to see the design come to life.”
