Città Commerical: Project Feature of Panama Suites

With five locations across Hamilton, Panama is a go-to provider for inspiring, flexible work environments. From private offices and co-working spaces to venues for workshops and private functions, Panama offers thoughtfully designed spaces to suit a wide range of needs.

Created in collaboration with Hamilton’s renowned Stark Property (of MADE, Riverbank Lane, and Riverbanks fame), the latest addition to the portfolio is Panama Suites. Designed for small businesses through to larger enterprises, the premium workspace pairs considered design details with an elevated aesthetic, creating a professional environment that feels both inviting and professional.

What was the design brief for the project?

Panama Suites, an extension of our co-working brand, is a premium office space located on level one of a newly refurbished multi-level development. This floor is designed to accommodate teams of four to 20, featuring private offices and shared amenities such as a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, meeting rooms and boardroom facilities, as well as breakout and lounge spaces. 

We needed each of these spaces to be highly functional for communal use, while having a relevant look and feel for a wide range of professional industries that would occupy the spaces over time.

Can you tell us about the building itself—its history, character, unique features?

The building was originally built in 1986 and was essentially your run-of-the-mill multi-level office of this era—overdue for updating and modernising. The comprehensive upgrade included seismic strengthening, an extensive lobby addition, and the introduction of new, cutting-edge end-of-trip facilities.

What materials, textures, or design references shaped your approach?

We wanted the space to be a bit more refined than some of our other Panama projects. We went for a natural palette, with most design elements kept tonal to create a cohesive and understated aesthetic.

How did Città’s furniture support or enhance your vision for the space?

We selected a range of Città furniture pieces, each with a feeling of quality and sophistication, balanced with a residential softness. This combination helped us achieve a relaxed and hospitable overall result.
