A spotlight on: Città Essentials

If you are reading this, chances are you are well-acquainted with Città. Città is a New Zealand design company with a rich history dating back more than three decades. What sets Città apart from other New Zealand brands, is the fact our designs are proudly conceptualised by an in-house team of talented furniture, textile, and product designers.

Città Essentials is an extension of the Città brand. The collection features timeless staples for everyday living. In contrast to Città, Essential products are carefully sourced–as opposed to designed–from our trusted network of suppliers and manufacturers.

But our efforts don’t end there, our in-house buyers work closely with these trusted suppliers to source and sometimes refine products. This ensures the pieces are cohesive to the brand and, most importantly, are practical for everyday use without compromising on quality. Throughout Città Essentials, you’ll discover function and simplicity with a minimalist aesthetic.

Città Essentials was first launched as a brand in 2019. Since then, we have continued to expand the range of thoughtful household products. All areas of the home are considered with products spanning from kitchenware and storage solutions to bed linen and towels.

We are proud to prioritise natural and ethical materials throughout Città Essentials. Across the product range, you’ll discover the likes of cotton, linen, beechwood, and palm leaf.

In addition, we have completed the lengthy and involved processes to meet industry certifications. Where possible, we use organic cotton certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and cushion feather inners certified by Responsible Down Standard (RDS). These industry certifications ensure products are made in a sustainable and ethical way, from start to finish.

Città Essentials is further defined by its clean colour palette. Cohesion can be seen through the use of white, grey, olive, and navy with pared-back designs showcasing simple stripes. This considered simplicity allows the pieces to seamlessly integrate with existing homewares as well as the wider Città brand.

The evolution of the Città Essentials brand has seen our previous Outlet locations transformed into Essentials stores. These existing sites continue to sell a selection of end-of-line styles and seconds.

Most recently, our College Street store in Wellington has also converted to a dedicated Essentials store. This store encompasses Essentials products entirely and therefore won’t house any end-of-line or seconds. The fit-out embraces the brand’s aesthetic and is our vision for future stores.

The five dedicated Città Essentials stores can be found in Belfast (Christchurch); Te Aro (Wellington); and Mount Eden, Albany and Glen Innes (Auckland). A curated range of select products is also available at other Città locations. Click here to view our store locations.
