Harakeke Coat Stand
The Harakeke coat stand is a collaboration between Città and internationally renowned product designer Jamie McLellan. The design takes inspiration from the flower stalks of New Zealand’s native harakeke plant. In this interpretation, the stand gracefully unfurls into five alternating hooks.
During the design process, Jamie McLellan explored how harakeke flowers naturally branch away from the main stem—a detail celebrated in the coat stand’s distinctive wood joints. These flowing connections reveal the interacting grain, showcasing the natural beauty of timber craftsmanship.
Made with solid American white oak and finished with a clear matte lacquer. The upright stem seamlessly plugs into a sculpted base plate and is secured with a bolt for strength and elegance.

Care Instructions:
Wipe clean using warm damp cloth. Avoid leaving water sitting on the surface as this can damage the product. We do not recommend placing wooden furniture in direct sunlight or near sources of heat. As the wood ages, the natural colour will change and darken. The natural characteristics of wood cause it to expand and contract with changes in humidity. Prolonged exposure to these environments may cause the timber to dry out, shrink, crack, or fade over time.
